Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine

Acupuncture and Oriental medicine are elegant, 2500-year-old healing systems that are increasingly in demand by consumers, proven effective for the treatment of many health challenges, and are providing a number of viable career paths for those who are called to this fulfilling work.

Maryland University of Integrative Health was the first accredited acupuncture school in the nation and, nearly 40 years later, continues to provide brilliant leadership in the field.

Over the years, our programs have increased and expanded due to consumer and student demand, and our treatment approaches and modalities have diversified, as well. Recently, our faculty redesigned the programs considering trends in integrative health, current research available in the field of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, performance on the national exam, and the educational components needed to build a successful and meaningful career post- graduation. Throughout the process, they strongly considered the suggestions and requests of alumni and senior students. Read more about this curriculum redesign here.
