Jim Duke’s Green Farmacy Garden

Located just three miles from the MUIH campus, Jim Duke’s Green Farmacy Garden provides a rare and enriching learning environment for students. The Green Farmacy Garden was established in 1998, after Duke’s thirty-year career with the USDA. It hosts 300 medicinal plant species from around the world, including vegetation of multiple habitats. Medicinal plants are organized into 80 plots designated for 80 different disease states.

Students and faculty spend many pleasant hours at the Green Farmacy Garden viewing the morphology and spirit of the plants with the passing of the seasons. In a life estate arrangement with Jim and Peggy Duke, MUIH will inherit the garden and the beautiful six acre property.
