What drew you to MUIH?
MUIH has a philosophy that meshes so perfectly with mine – I have a passion for holistic health and wellness and approach wellness from a can-do attitude, no matter where one is in his or her personal journey. I was delighted when I found MUIH and read the mission and vision of this fabulous institution!
What excites you about your academic field?
Workplace wellness is exploding! There is such a need for people with an understanding of the holistic nature of wellness as well as an understanding of human behavior. Our country is in a health crisis – it’s energizing to be able to help!
Has there been a course you’ve particularly enjoyed?
I love my Integrative Health and Wellness class! We touch on so many aspects of complementary and alternative medicine. I am always saying that I can’t believe that I get to study these fascinating topics!
Can you speak about the faculty here?
Every single person that I’ve come in touch with here at MUIH has been incredibly helpful. My current professor, Claudia Joy Wingo, is such a well-rounded font of knowledge! She has been a wonderful source of help and advice since the time that I was just pondering entrance to this degree program.
What’s your best MUIH memory?
I would have to say attending the Redefining Health weekend workshop with Dianne Connelly and Bob Duggan, the founders of MUIH.
How do you plan to use what you’ve learned here?
I am currently learning about so many fields of integrative health that I haven’t been exposed to – this knowledge helps broaden me and allows me greater gifts to offer to my clients.
What would you say about MUIH to a prospective student who is interested in attending?
If you are interested in integrative health and believe in the mind, body, spirit connection, there is no finer institution in which to study.
What is the one word that comes to mind when you think of MUIH?
Jackie Hill is currently enrolled in MUIH’s Master of Science in Health Promotion with area of concentration in Workplace Wellness.
