What drew you to MUIH?
The integrative approach and philosophy of the university along with the opportunity my degree affords me to become a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and differentiate myself in my field.
What excited you about your academic field?
The ability to impact the health of individuals and the population at large through the art and science of integrative nutrition. Also, the variety of opportunities where I can apply these skills and knowledge I’ve amassed through my program.
Has there been a course you’ve particularly enjoyed?
I’m a bit of a science geek so I’ve loved the in-depth courses in physiology, nutritional biochemistry, pathophysiolgy, and advanced lab assessment – all of which provided knowledge and a solid scientific foundation that I can practically apply in my future work with clients.
Can you speak about the faculty here?
The faculty is terrific and displays not only a true passion for the content they deliver, but also a genuine interest in the success, career paths, and lives of their students.
What’s your best MUIH memory?
The relationships I’ve developed with my classmates.
How will you use what you’ve learned here?
I enjoy a patchwork career, with diversity in the endeavors and opportunities I pursue. I plan to use what I’ve learned to pursue opportunities in teaching, clinical work in nutritional consultation at an integrated wellness center, and potentially program development within large organizations.
What would you say about MUIH to a prospective student who is interested in attending?
MUIH is not only a fantastic academic setting, but a beacon for integrative health and a place of engaging community. I would encourage any individual interested in integrative health and with a passion for shifting the health of our world to visit the university, meet with faculty, and connect with alumni to learn about the unique experience that MUIH provides.
What is the one word that comes to mind when you think of MUIH?
Health
