Welcome International Health Coach University Graduates!
Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) and International Health Coach University (IHCU) have developed pathways for additional study for graduates of IHCU’s Master of Science (MS) Health Coaching program. Pathway 1 provides the opportunity for graduate study through MUIH’s Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (PBC) in Integrative Health Studies and Master of Arts (MA) in Integrative Health Studies. Pathway 2 provides the opportunity for pursuit of MUIH’s non-credit Fundamentals of Ayurveda in Coaching Professional Certificate.
Pathway 1: Integrative Health Studies Graduate Programs
Graduates of IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program are eligible for advanced standing in MUIH’s PBC Integrative Health Studies and MA Integrative Health Studies programs based on an Articulation Agreement approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Candidates for this advanced standing must indicate graduation from IHCU on their application for admission to MUIH.
IHCU graduates who further their education with additional graduate programs from MUIH expand their knowledge and skills in integrative health, add credibility to their work, apply critical thinking and evidence-informed practices, and show that they are serious about becoming experts in their field.
Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Integrative Health Studies
Graduates of IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program are eligible for 3 credits of advanced standing in MUIH’s PBC Integrative Health Studies program and will only be required to complete 9 of the 12 credits of the PBC program. They will be exempt from taking the following course at MUIH:
- ISCI603a Survey of Complementary Health Approaches (3 cr)
To be eligible for advanced standing in the PBC Integrative Health Studies candidates must:
- Indicate graduation from IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program on their application for admission to MUIH, and
- Have completed IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program and have this transcript and degree conferred by IHCU prior to starting their first course in the PBC Integrative Health Studies program at MUIH.

Master of Arts Integrative Health Studies
Graduates of IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program are eligible for 15 credits of advanced standing in MUIH’s MA Integrative Health Studies program and will only be required to complete 15 of the 30 credits of the MA program at MUIH. They will be exempt from taking the following courses at MUIH as part of the undeclared area of concentration:
- ISCI603a Survey of Complementary Health Approaches (3 cr)
- Nutrition and Herbal Medicine Elective Category (3 cr)
- Health Promotion, Education, and Research Category (9 cr)
To be eligible for advanced standing in the MA Integrative Health Studies candidates must:
- Indicate graduation from IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program on their application for admission to MUIH, and
- Have completed IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program and have this transcript and degree conferred by IHCU prior to starting their first course in the MA Integrative Health Studies program at MUIH.

Alumni Status
Graduates of MUIH’s PBC Integrative Health Studies and MA Integrative Health Studies programs are considered to be alumni of MUIH and have full access to alumni services including joining the Alumni Association, receiving alumni newsletters and communications, retaining your individual MUIH email account after graduation, access to MUIH’s Career Services, eligible to post your professional practice on MUIH’s Find a Practitioners webpage, access to view and eligible to post job openings on MUIH’s Integrative Health Job Board, eligible to participate as a presenter in MUIH’s annual Research Symposium, and eligible for alumni discounts on Professional and Continuing Education courses and programs.
Additional Graduate Programs
MUIH offers academic programs in additional areas of study, however they are not included in the IHCU-MUIH articulation agreement and are not eligible for advanced standing at this time. State Restrictions
Due to federal, state, and higher education agency regulations, Maryland University of Integrative Health is restricted in the programs into which it can enroll individuals who reside in particular states. Individuals interested in applying for admission to graduate programs at MUIH should review the information at https://muih.edu/admissions/out-of-state-authorization-for-online-education/.
Pathway 2: Non-Credit Fundamentals of Ayurveda in Coaching Professional Certificate
Graduates of IHCU’s MS Health Coaching program are eligible for the non-credit Fundamentals of Ayurveda in Coaching Professional Certificate at MUIH. IHCU graduates who further their education with this non-credit professional certificate expand their knowledge and skills in Ayurveda, diversify their professional practice, and enhance support of their clients.
This certificate recognizes the combined skills and knowledge gained through IHCU’s MS Health Coaching degree and MUIH’s non-credit Ayurveda courses:
- MUIH Course 1: What is Ayurveda
- MUIH Course 2: Eating Right for the Seasons

Individuals who complete this certificate, while not considered MUIH alumni, have access to consultations with MUIH’s Career Services about resume writing and job search and its publicly available resources on the MUIH website; and access to view and eligible to post job openings on MUIH’s Integrative Health Job Board.
IHCU graduates are also eligible to register for other MUIH non-credit courses and programs offered by the Office of Professional and Continuing Education.
