Are you experiencing distress or concerned about an MUIH student? We can help. Please visit Student Support and Advocacy/CARE team.
Balancing life and school can be difficult. The Office of Student Support was created to help you navigate a wide variety of life’s challenges. We help students create plans to confront difficulties while providing support and resources to keep you safe and successful.
The CARE team is a function of the Office of Student Support and was established to support students, faculty, and staff experiencing difficulties. If you’re facing challenges or know someone who is, we encourage you to submit at CARE report to connect with our friendly and compassionate team. Together we can help you get through difficult times and get back on track.
The mission of the MUIH CARE Team is to promote safety and well-being through a collaborative, coordinated, proactive, and multidisciplinary approach. The CARE Team identifies students, faculty, or staff whose behavioral patterns have raised concern about their well-being; centralizes communication to gain a more complete understanding of the person and situation; and develops a collaborative outreach plan with campus and community resources to address and mitigate identified risks.
Membership is based on the position, not the individual. The Team may also consult with other professionals as needed such as a faculty member who has a concern about a student and/or a manager who has information concerning an employee.
As needed based on the situation: Faculty representative, Academic Advisor, Title IX Coordinator, Chief Diversity Officer, Disability Services and Accessibility, Howard County Police.
