FAQs for Professional and Continuing Education

How do I enroll in PCE Courses?

  • PCE Canvas Catalog is the platform you will use to enroll in PCE courses; access your in-progress and completed PCE courses through Canvas; view your enrollments and payments; and retrieve your automated certificates of completion. As a PCE Learner, you will have your PCE Catalog Account and Catalog Student Dashboard.
  • Canvas is the MUIH online learning platform where you will engage with your PCE course learning content, including instructional videos, course materials, discussions, instructor communications, etc.

What is the difference between Canvas and Catalog?

Canvas is an online learning management system or LMS. This is where the course information, content, grades, and assessments are contained – essentially, where your online learning takes place. The catalog is a “storefront” for continuing education courses and a learning dashboard tool for PCE students. This is where you can register and pay for your courses, access your PCE courses in Canvas, track your progress, retrieve your certificates, and more. Together, the two systems work seamlessly and provide you with all the tools you need to succeed as a PCE Learner.

To enroll in a PCE course, start by going to the MUIH PCE Catalog which lists all current PCE course offerings.

Once you are on the MUIH Catalog landing page at ce.muih.edu, you will notice numerous Professional and Continuing education courses to choose from – you can click the “Load More” button to show additional courses.

You can scroll through the listings or click “refine” to filter the options by selecting free, paid, open enrollment, or a certificate from the top menu bar.  You can also sort the possibilities by alphabetical order, start date, and price. If you know the course name you are looking for, you can type the title in the search field and click Enter.

(Note: PCE offerings and listings change periodically, so we suggest you bookmark ce.muih.edu for future reference and sign up for the PCE email subscriber list for notifications and special offers.)

When you click on the individual course listing, you can read more about the course or program, or click Enroll to add the course to your Shopping Cart and finalize check-out and submit payment via credit card or PayPal.

(Note:  You may choose to add multiple courses at a time to your Shopping Cart before check-out.)  If you have a discount promo code, enter it before completing payment.

After completing enrollment and payment, you will receive confirmation emails for each enrollment you can log in to your PCE Catalog Learner Dashboard at ce.muih.edu to access your courses at any time. (Remember to check your “spam/junk” folder if you do not see emails in your primary inbox).

Note: Courses with a start and end date will only be accessible during the specific course period. Self-paced, on-demand online courses will be available immediately upon enrollment from your Catalog Student Dashboard.

New PCE Learners
If you are a new learner, you first need to complete the required fields on the registration form to set up a new user account when completing your enrollment. All users must register and enroll with a NON-muih.edu email address (e.g., a personal email account you use frequently).

Check all the necessary boxes to complete the account registration form and set your password.  You will then receive a confirmation email to finalize your account registration. (Please check your spam/junk folder if you do not see this email in your primary inbox.)

Returning PCE Learners
If you are a returning learner, there is no need to register for a new Catalog account. Log in at ce.muih.edu with your username and password or click Sign-in Now as you complete the enrollment form.

Can I earn continuing education units (CEUs) through PCE?

Learning never ends for complementary and integrative health practitioners. MUIH Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) programs provide ongoing professional development opportunities for practitioners in different fields. MUIH developed these programs with a primary focus on learning and application. Our PCE programs award MUIH Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and non-credit Certificates instead of academic credit upon successful completion of each course. Various national and international professional organizations often accept these online learning programs to meet ongoing professional development requirements in their respective fields.

As an accredited institution of higher learning, MUIH PCE awards its own CEUs based on the MUIH CEU Philosophy. You may refer to the individual listing details for the number of MUIH CEUs awarded and for any additional information on established CEU approvals we have formally verified through external licensing boards and professional organizations. While we aim to align our PCE offerings with various complementary and integrative health professional organizations through a formal application process, when possible, keep in mind that given the number of specialties and organizations that exist, it is the ultimate responsibility of the individual to verify CEU eligibility and approval with your respective professional board or organization for any PCE offering. We recommend you first contact your professional board or organization directly to confirm CEU criteria and eligibility requirements and reach out to the PCE Department at  with any further questions and guidance.

Ultimately, our primary goal is to provide exceptional learning experiences that will garner our PCE Learners with valued credentials, expertise, and resources that can be readily applied in professional practice.
