Overview

Janet has more than 20 years of experience in acupuncture private practice, working together with people and animals in the Baltimore, MD area. Throughout this time, she has also been teaching in the acupuncture programs. Since about 2012, her focus has gradually shifted from teaching to administration.

Professional Narrative

In private practice and teaching, Janet encourages collaboration, where patient or student have an active role in their healing and learning. In the classroom, Janet is most interested in courses with a high degree of hands-on learning, such as point location.

In recent years, Janet has moved into a primarily administrative role, hoping to aid the smooth flow of students, faculty, and staff within the department and university.

Personal Narrative

Outside of the office and school, I like to be physically active at the local climbing gyms and out in nature hiking. My favorite indoor pastime is reading sci-fi, fantasy, historical fiction, and murder mysteries. A not too recent favorite book was Gross Anatomy: Dispatches from the Front (and Back) by Mara Altman, which connects the body and psyche through reflection and humor.
