Overview

Sherry Leikin has been a credentialed coach in private practice since 2015 and has been a faculty member with the MUIH Health and Wellness Coaching department since 2017. Professional Narrative

Sherry Leikin is an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach (ACC), as well as a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). Sherry is passionate about helping her clients and students (and all other human beings) increase their self-compassion. Through her training in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Compassion for Couples (CfC), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and her own journey as a student at MUIH, she has learned evidence-based practices to help her clients and her students manifest their best selves. Compassion, and self-compassion, plays a large role in cultivating Healing Presence, an MUIH University Learning Outcome and a foundational philosophical construct of our university, and this has been her favorite topic to teach. She has taught Becoming a Healing Presence many times at MUIH and in 2021 developed Healing Presence courses accessible to all MUIH students, employees, and beyond. Her passion and desire is to spread this teaching to all.

Personal Narrative

I am active in my community and enjoy the volunteer work I do because I very much appreciate the value and importance of community and connection, and I like to help foster that for everyone. I love spending time with my family and friends. I'm an active grandmother and love how little ones always bring you to the present moment! I love traveling and exploring new places. I also love hiking in the woods with my dog (Lenny), birthday celebrations, yoga, gardening, reading, learning, and relaxing with my husband.
