Overview
Following a successful career in nonprofit operations, Tonia began studying, practicing and teaching yoga on a broader basis in 2010. Her work has focused primarily on children and adolescents, oncology care, and supporting the patient/family.
Professional Narrative
Tonia Kulp, MS, C-IAYT is a Certified Yoga Therapist, an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, and an iRest Level 1 teacher. She holds numerous certifications in yoga for pediatrics, oncology and trauma informed yoga therapeutics. She completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR) through University of Massachusetts: The Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society and is a Certified End of Life Doula (University of Vermont), Reiki Master Teacher, and a board certified Reflexologist. Tonia works as a Yoga Therapist, specializing in pediatric oncology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where she is part of the multidisciplinary integrative oncology team. Tonia also has a strong affinity for supporting healthcare providers and is part of a continuing effort using mindfulness, movement and other integrative modalities to build staff resiliency at CHOP.
Personal Narrative
In her spare time, Tonia enjoys walking, reading and spending time on the water with family and friends. Tonia lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania with her husband, two sons and two black labs.
