Laura has been a yoga professional for over a decade in clinical, university, private, and studio settings. She is a Teaching Assistant in the first-year foundational classes in the Yoga Therapy department. As a yoga therapist, she specializes in mental health and the mind-body connection working in an integrative hospital setting in Austin, TX.
As a certified yoga therapist in mental healthcare, Laura works with adult patients experiencing mood and personality disorders, and trauma. The partial hospitalization program focuses on DBT therapy where Laura leads small, group yoga therapy classes that offers education on the benefits of mindfulness as a perspective for supporting healing through: emotional and nervous system regulation, increasing insight to promote behavior change, integrating intentional self-care that inspires a feeling of well-being in daily life, and as individualized coping skills through movement, breathing, and meditation.
