Overview

Dr. Lipski has more than 40 years of experience in the nutrition field as a clinician, educator, public speaker, author, and entrepreneur. She has published work on Traditional Foods, Probiotics, and Food Reactions. She has served in leadership roles helping to found ACNPE and to restructure the American Nutrition Association.

Professional Narrative

My personal mission is to put food and lifestyle into the center of medicine by training the next generation of clinicians. Having nutrition professionals in clinical settings significantly changes the way that medicine is practiced. Food is medicine. The right diet in the right person at the right moment in time can seem miraculous.

I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Nutrition from the Union Institute, am a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition and a member of Cochrane, hold two board certifications in clinical nutrition (CNS and BCHN) and one from the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP). I’m on faculty for the gastrointestinal modules for the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Metabolic Medicine Institute fellowship program in Integrative Medicine. I currently sit on advisory boards for the Accreditation Council for Nutrition Professional Education (ACNPE), Algaecal and the Autism Hope Alliance. In the past, I was a founding board member and secretary for ACNPE, and on boards for the American Nutrition Association, National Association for Nutrition Professionals, and the International and American Association for Clinical Nutrition.

I like to write and have been published in peer-reviewed journals including Nutrition in Clinical Practice, Integrative Medicine, Alternative and Complementary Medicine, and am the author of several books: Digestive Wellness, Digestive Wellness for Children, Leaky Gut Syndrome, and The Digestion Connection. I’ve written textbook chapters for Integrative Gastroenterology (editions 1 & 2), and for Integrative and Functional Medical Nutrition Therapy.

I’m the founder of Innovative Healing and the Innovative Healing Academy.

To have good work-life balance, I spend time daily moving my body and/or gardening. I love to hike/walk, cook, read novels, spend time in nature, travel in our RV, and most importantly to spend time with friends and family. Life is an adventure, and each day a blessing.
