For the July 2016 issue of Acupuncture Today, MUIH Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Academic Director Jeffrey Millison, M.Ac., Dipl.Ac. (NCCAOM), wrote a feature piece on the emerging partnership model between hospitals and universities. Using MUIH’s recent affiliation agreement with University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health as an example, Millison explores the trials, successes, and learning curves that come with introducing complementary and integrative care modalities into an established and traditional Western healthcare system.
Board Chair Adele Wilzack, M.S., R.N., announced today the retirement of President & CEO Frank Vitale after nearly a decade of “distinguished service” during which the school achieved University status, launched its first doctoral programs, set enrollment records and expanded clinical care. The Board appointed John A. Palmucci, a longtime MUIH Board Member and former Valparaiso University Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, to succeed Mr. Vitale, effective July 1st, on an interim basis while a comprehensive search for a permanent chief executive takes place.

Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) welcomes Christina Sax, Ph.D., as the new Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Over the past few years as Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) has grown, it has accelerated its investment in institutional infrastructure including people, systems, and facilities. Taking the next big step, MUIH will be expanding into two office suites on the first floor of a brand new building in Maple Lawn, a 600-acre mixed-use business community in Howard County, Maryland.
